Introduction
SCP is ExxonMobil Chemical's largest investment (US$2 billion) in the Asia Pacific. This world-scale facility employs state-of-the-art chemical processing technologies for high-performance manufacturing in today's competitive global chemicals market. Comprising five integrated units, this highly synergised plant serves as a strategic supply pillar for the global shipping network.

Facility
Owned by ExxonMobil Chemical Asia Pacific (a Singapore subsidiary of ExxonMobil Chemical Company, a division of Exxon Mobil Corporation). Ground-breaking took place in 1998 and the plant was commissioned in 2001. SCP is located on 90 hectares of mostly reclaimed land on Jurong Island.

Key features
SCP is designed with advanced chemical processing technologies. Its Partial Oxidation Unit converts by-product from the plant into syngas. This helps to fuel our 155MW co-generation unit, which provides power to the plant, with enough to supply to the adjacent ExxonMobil refinery.
Community/Environment
SCP strives to be a valued member of the community. It has started community activities by supporting the Singapore Blood Donation Drive, and initiating a paper and aluminium cans recycling programme on its premises. It also participates in a wide range of environment, education, arts and community programmes supported by ExxonMobil Asia Pacific.
Feedstock
SCP is adjacent to and fully integrated with ExxonMobil's refinery on Jurong Island. The steam cracker uses primarily liquid feedstock (e.g. naphtha) from the refinery and third parties. The plant's capacity to process feed is highly efficient, facilitating cost competitive production of olefins, polyolefins, oxo-alcohol, isopar and aromatics products.
Product Shipment
Products are shipped via ExxonMobil berths on Jurong Island, conveyed by pipeline to Jurong Island customers, or packed in 25kg bags and transported in containers by trucks.
