Overview
ExxonMobil corporate entities are active in Chemical, Lubes & Petroleum Specialties, Natural Gas and Fuels Marketing (Aviation and Marine) in Taiwan.
Currently, these businesses are conducted by three ExxonMobil corporate entities, which are branch offices of parent companies registered in Delaware. In total, about 130 employees are employed by the three entities, namely; - ExxonMobil International L.L.C. - Taiwan Branch (EMILLCT)
- Taichung Petroleum Inc. (TPI) - TPI is a Taiwan incorporated company.
- ExxonMobil Gas Inc. - Taiwan Branch (EMGIT)
Activities - Fuels Marketing
ExxonMobil is a reliable supplier of Aviation and Marine fuels. Aviation customers have been efficiently supplied through arrangement with the Civil Aeronautics Administration in Chiang Kai Shek International Airport since 1963.
- Gas & Power Marketing
ExxonMobil is also a significant supplier and marketer of LNG to the Asia Pacific market, including Japan and Korea, since 1998.
- Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties
Lubricants have been marketed under both Esso and Mobil brands since the 1950s. A Lube Oil Blending Plant was added in 1991 in Taichung, Central Taiwan.
Currently, the major business operations are in blending and marketing lubricants. ExxonMobil works closely with distributors to provide for all types of transportation vehicles and the industrial sector.
Marine customers are served at sea ports across Taiwan island while other customers are supplied with specialty products such as wax, white oil and process oil.
- Chemical
Major activities include canvassing orders and sourcing of chemical products for ExxonMobil entities in the region.
Products sold in Taiwan include basic chemicals, intermediates and specialty chemicals produced by ExxonMobil in various parts of the world.
Achievements & Contributions
Aviation Operations was awarded the Global Aviation Wings Safety Award in 2003 for its outstanding safety records.
The Lube Oil Blending Plant in Taichung achieved 10 years of zero Lost Time Incident (LTI) in 2002. Since its start-up in 1992, the plant has achieved 11.5 yrs of LTI free operation.
The Chemical business received the ExxonMobil Chemical Asia Pacific Responsible Care Award in 2002.
