Overview

Esso and Mobil re-entered Vietnam in 1994 with representative offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.  In 1998, Mobil took 50% equity in the Vietnam joint venture of Mitsui (Japan) and Unique Gas (Thailand) which became Mobil Unique (Vietnam) Company Limited (MUCL).

Following the merger of Exxon Corporation and Mobil Corporation, the Esso business in Vietnam was integrated to MUCL to form ExxonMobil Unique Vietnam Company Limited (EMUCL).  EMUCL currently employs some 260 regular and contract employees.

Activities

ExxonMobil is involved in the manufacturing, distributing and marketing of ExxonMobil Lubricants and Specialties, LPG, Asphalt, Solvents and Ammonia.

• Lubricants & Specialties
  
  The Lube Oil Blending Plant is a state-of-the-art facility, producing Esso and Mobil's internationally known lubricants. Together with imported lubricants, our sales to direct customers and through distributors covers all market segments and channels.

• Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)
  
  Our semi-automatic LPG cylinder and bulk filling facilities cater to the needs of this fast growing market.  We have the largest LPG sphere storage tank in Vietnam, in addition to bullet storage tanks.

• Asphalt
  
  Our asphalt terminalling facilities allow us to import and distribute asphalt to serve the needs of Vietnam for use in infrastructural improvement for road and highway construction.
  
  
• Solvents
  
  A tank truck loading bay and a drum filling line is present to support sales in the solvents and chemicals market.
  
  
• Ammonia
  
  With our bullet storage tanks and filling facilities, we import, fill and distribute cylinder and bulk Ammonia to industrial customers.
