Singapore is the Asia-Pacific regional headquarters for Downstream and Chemical businesses, which combined, employ almost 3,000 people.
In Singapore, ExxonMobil owns and operates a 605,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Jurong - ExxonMobil's largest refining complex in the world. In addition, ExxonMobil operates a world-class petrochemical complex on Jurong Island. This is the Singapore Chemical Plant. Combined, these two sites form ExxonMobil's largest integrated manufacturing site in Asia.

Training, both on-the-job and formal learning, job rotation / overseas assignments and mentoring form the ExxonMobil work experience in Singapore.
Firstly, we believe the best learning experience is derived on-the-job. Thus, with close supervision and mentoring from their managers, new hires start contributing from their first day on the job.
In your first year, you will attend the New Hire Orientation Programme for new employees, which covers ExxonMobil's structure and operations in Singapore, as well as business direction and challenges facing the company. Throughout your career in ExxonMobil, there will be opportunities for ongoing technical training or skills-based training, as determined by your individual needs, and your career development path.
Job rotation typically happens after your first two years on the job, and your performance in your first assignment will determine your next position in the company. Job rotation can be inter-departmental, or from one ExxonMobil affiliate to another. International assignments are also a definite possibility. Provided you have displayed the key skills, aptitude and mobility required, you could be assigned to any of our overseas affiliates for international job assignments lasting between one to three years.
Mentoring is an informal way of supporting new employees so that they assimilate easily into the company culture, and begin being productive from early on in their careers. By learning from the experiences of more senior employees, new hires can not only kick-start their career development at ExxonMobil, but also build up effective networks.
